NRMA advised I needed replacement starter motor. Was able to get 2nd hand from Hytech wreckers. I had to pick up & pay first. Cardiff Car Care Clinic didnt bother to check the part first to ensure it was actually working, but went ahead and installed it anyway. Picked the car up later and worked to go home. Went to move the car later and didnt start. Called them to ask if they actually checked the part first before installing. They just said the car started ok after part put in. Said it could be something else and take to auto electrician (a guess). Said they are not auto electricians. You're got that right! Went to Ultra tune who were nothing but professional. they checked the car on their machines and confirmed it was the starter motor that was faulty. They installed new part for not much more than the 2nd hand one. Hytech fully refunded me for the faulty part (decent). Cardiff Car Clinic didnt bother to refund a cent. In fact charged $30 above the quoted price on the phone for 'environmental costs". Backyard place who guess at what the real problem is. Go to a reputable auto mechanic and auto electrician shop that know their stuff. Go to Ultratune Cardiff and dont waste your money on a backyard shop.
